Hey y’all! I’m Kaitlyn, the artist behind Oak and Vine Studio. My work is rooted in two images from scripture that have shaped the way I see life – the vine in John 15:5, symbolizing connection and abiding in Christ, and the oak in Isaiah 61:3, symbolizing strength, endurance, and beauty that lasts. These verses have guided me for years, and they continue to shape the way I create: slowly grown, deeply rooted, and intentionally tended. Oak & Vine began as a quiet desire to preserve meaningful moments in life, and it has grown into a studio where I press flowers with care, patience, and purpose.
I create artwork using real pressed flowers and foliage, each one preserved naturally without resin, silica, or artificial methods. I’m drawn to the honesty of traditional flower-pressing; the way the flowers soften, shift, and settle into gentle vintage tones over time. Their colors may eventually change, but their forms remain beautifully true to the moment they came from. Working with nature means embracing imperfection, honoring what is real, and allowing each bloom to become what it wants to be.
My work is shaped by the landscape around me – the warm Gulf Coast light, the wildflowers that thrive in Mississippi humidity, and the quiet beauty of Southern seasons. I’m inspired by the way nature grows here: resilient, vibrant, and full of stories. Every bouquet, every memorial floral, every celebration piece carries a moment someone wants to hold onto. My role is simply to preserve it with gentleness and intention, crafting heirlooms that reflect the beauty God grows in our lives.
I create pressed-flower artwork in a range of styles, from full collage compositions to minimal botanical studies, wild bouquet layouts, petal-forward designs, and pieces that highlight a single meaningful bloom. Each commission is pressed slowly and composed by hand, allowing the flowers to guide the design. I believe in working with natural materials, supporting small businesses where I can, and choosing methods that honor both the earth and the stories entrusted to me.
For me, Oak & Vine is a practice, a rhythm, and a way of life. It’s my way of reflecting God’s beauty, tending to meaningful moments, and creating art that feels rooted, honest, and intentional. I’m deeply grateful for every person who has trusted me with their flowers. Your stories mean more to me than you’ll ever know.
